PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Past Perfect Continuous Tnse:-The  Tense which shows that an action had been continuing in past time for a long period is called Past Perfect Continuous Tense.

वह Tense जो यह दर्शाता है कि कोई कार्य बीते हुवे समय में एक लम्बे समय तक जारी रहा है उसे past perfect continuous tense कहते है |

Identification:- वाक्य के अन्त में ता रहा था, ते रहे थे, ती रही थी और रहा था, रहे थे, रही थी आदि पाया जाता है |

Stru:-S+had been+V₄+O+R.M.

Rule:-1.We use ‘had been’ with all subject(that is I, We, They, You, He, She, It) and any single name or two or more than two name and then use V₄.

2.In Interrogative sentences, we use ‘had’ before the subject.

3.In Negative sentences, we use ‘not’ in the mid of had been.

That means- had not been/hadn’t  been

4.We use ‘since’ for Point of time and ‘for’ for period of time.

                    Since           -         point of time

                    For              -         period of time

e.g. of past perfect continuous tense:-

AFFIRMATIVE

Stru:-S+had been+V₄+O+R.M.

1.वे लोग मुझे चिढ़ाते रहे थे |

They had been huffing me.

2.वे लोग बहाने बना रहे थे |

They had been pretending.

3.वसीम 2005 से क्रिकेट खेल रहा था |

Wasim had been playing cricket since 2005.

4.वे चार घंटे से टी.वी. देख रहे थे |

They had been watching T.V. for four hours.

5.हम पांच साल से उस मकान में रह रहे थे |

 We had been living in that house for five years.

NEGATIVE

Stru:-S+had+not+been+V₄+O+R.M.

                              Or,

S+hadn’t been+V₄+O+R.M.

1.वे लोग मुझे नहीं चिढ़ाते रहे थे |

They had not been huffing me.

2.वे लोग बहाने नहीं बना रहे थे |

They had not been pretending.

3.वसीम 2005 से क्रिकेट नहीं खेल रहा था |

 Wasim had not been playing cricket since 2005.

4.वे लोग चार घंटे से टी.वी. नहीं देख रहे थे |

 They had not been watching T.V. for four hours. 

5.हम पांच साल से उस मकान में नहीं रह रहे थे |

 We had not been living in that house for five years.

1.क्या वे लोग मुझे चिढ़ाते रहे थे ?
